Our expansion vessels are manufactured to meet the requirements of the PED 97/23/EC Directive and BS EN 13831:2007 and are designed to provide years of reliable service.   Design Altecnic expansion vessels are constructed with a high-quality, non-replaceable diaphragm that is resistant to ethylene or propylene glycol mixtures. The vessels are also epoxy coated in red for corrosion protection.   How It Works When water is heated, it expands. In a closed heating system, this expansion cannot be absorbed by the pipes or other components, so it can put a lot of stress on the system.
